Old Earth. Year: 3270
The tension between the various races of Earth was thickening. The majority of humans seemed to be uncomfortable with the idea that the others want a place in the world that matters: the government. Groups of said others had decided that if the humans don't want them involved, then so be it. Other groups, however, were having none of it...
Factions were formed - those that wanted power, those who simply wanted peace and good fortune, and those who didn't care either way so long as war was avoided. It wasn't that simple, though, and war was exactly what they got. Plans to overthrow the human government were formed, but some realized that any type of power monopoly would mean a worse situation than the one they were in already. Numerous members of various races mixed and matched their powers to either take what they thought they deserved, or protect the well-being of Earth and it's inhabitants. Even the neutrals were eventually pulled in.
Two leaders were chosen to lead each cause: Kain, a three-thousand year old vampire led those who supported war. He was ruthless, unforgiving and was known to turn on even his own followers. Maera, the daughter of a Elven prince and a High Priestess witch was chosen to lead those opposed Kain and his teachings. For two hundred years, the humans and the others fought amongst themselves...
For two hundred years, Earth was slowly poisoned. And then it happened. The enemy that none of them saw coming: Mother Nature herself. In the seas of the Pacific, three hundred miles from the west coast of the United States, a meteor the size of Greenland hit the Earth.
New Earth. Year: 3752
The people were pre-warned of course, and they took precautions - underground refugee camps, to name a few, though none of them expected the incident would actually occur.
Some of them survived.
But Earth was not what it used to be... a barren desert in some places, a lifeless tundra in others. Slowly, as the atmosphere became livable again, the survivors of the incident began to reappear only to find that their situation was worse than before. Now the Earth has no leader at all and, of course, everyone wanted their turn.
What's worse: Kain and Maera were nowhere to be found. It was assumed they were both dead and, though the war raged on, most of it was half-hearted. That is, until rumors began to surface that the Old Ones were not dead at all... they were simply hiding. But from what? Could there possibly be something bigger, something to put the Earth in even more peril?
Will you be ready when it comes? ...What side will The End find you on?
