Chapter 2: The Rebirth[/center]
It Begins with an Ending
The goddesses, though they cared deeply for their children, had begun to realize that they were becoming unneeded in this steadily growing world and that perhaps it was time to take a step back; to let the mortals design their own lives. Asmaria and Zenith came together, drawing the three worlds (Paradise, Earth, and the Underworld) closer to one another. The siblings decided together that it was time now to say adieu.
Elemental Uprise
The gods would not leave without a parting gift, however; they granted wings to a few bloodlines to be passed down the generations and within all wolves, they molded a power. They fashioned each one to have a single element to excel in--either water, earth, wind, fire, dark or light. The sisters made these powers so that it began weak, growing and becoming stronger with time and use.
A New Beginning
Such powerful gifts could lead to great chaos if placed upon the wrong being, but what a god gives, they do not take away; instead, the twins sought out six mortals to represent each element. They were granted the full weight of their element to use, to guide, and to protect the realm from corruption. They would take the god‘s place, become angels, and keep the balance. They were the six Guardians of the mortal world.
Dark Moon Rising.
Asmaria and Zenith mixed together heaven and hell, forming the Underworld, a place for both good and evil spirits. But of course Zenith, as the goddess of death, could not leave these spirits on their own, just like the mortals, they needed a leader. So she sent He, her most trusted hellhound, to find someone suitable. In the eyes of a pup was born a great beast to watch over and care for the demons and hellhounds. Within him dwelt no element, but a power of its own. If he were to command, none but the Guardians had the power to deny.
The Agreement
Now that there exist a portal between the mortal realm and the Underworld, and no gods to watch over it, demons and hellhounds as well as mortal wolves can cross over into the others world. No good can come from such a passage, so the Guardians and the High Lord of the Underworld must meet periodically within a special meeting area to discuss and inform, keeping a treaty of peace among the living and dead.
Will it end with this beginning?
Not all demons are good, not all hellhounds are bad; just the same, not all mortals are one or the other. And not all leaders are fool proof or incorruptible. Good and evil exist in all places. This new era is a dangerous one. Creatures are smart and growing stronger with their developing elements; and the rulers are still young, still learning. The future is never set in stone. We can only hope that the balance will remain.
